The General Authority for Awqaf has supported several water supply projects in villages, hamlets, and remote areas in the Makkah and Madinah regions, in collaboration with the Sakaiah Foundation. This initiative is part of its efforts to enhance the impact of development programs, improve their efficiency, and meet the conditions set by the donors. The support aims to address developmental needs related to water, provide sustainable solutions to expedite water access to areas in need with high quality, and empower the community to contribute to water supply projects and programs in villages and remote areas. This is intended to create a positive social impact across various regions of the Kingdom through various initiatives and projects.
This support has yielded numerous benefits, including the implementation of qualitative initiatives for water supply programs, strengthening partnerships to maximize the conditions set by donors, and contributing to the sustainability of the components of the endowment sector. As a result, 42 projects and 32 centers have been serviced, benefiting 5,000 worshippers and visitors, and 15,734 families.
It is noteworthy that the General Authority for Awqaf works to enhance the endowment sector, govern and preserve it, develop it, and raise awareness about it by launching innovative endowment products and services for beneficiaries. The aim is to be a leader in sustainable development locally and globally, in line with the conditions of donors, implementing best practices, and establishing systems and regulations that elevate and develop endowment work, enabling it to maximize its impact on economic and social development and social solidarity.
